Please Explain Twitter Spam
Jason Kincaid at TechCrunch notes that Twitter is killing off the (hidden) auto-follow feature. This is just barely news, since getting it turned on required contacting Twitter support. This quote grabbed my attention:
This is probably a good move on Twitter’s part, as I’ve always found the practice to be pretty spammy.
Wait, what? What does that mean? Being followed back by someone you followed, whatever their reason, is not spam. Spam is, by definition, unsolicited.
