• What Mac/PC World Wanted

Brennon Slattery at PC World has put together a list of features he wishes Apple would have announced yesterday.

1. Wireless iPods that sync directly to iTunes

I want to be able to leave my iPod nano in my car and have it sync wirelessly from the garage.  The only reason it ever leaves my glove compartment is to be updated.

2. Anything to do with the iPod Classic

At a certain point, there’s no market demand for a hard-disk music player over n GB.  The iPod Touch is already the next logical step forward for the iPod.  They call it the “Classic” because there are still some who want capacity over the whiz-bang features of the iPhone-sans-phone.  When flash drives can be large enough to fill both needs, expect to see the death of the iPod Classic.  Until then, there’s not much to do.

3. Radio tuner

With all of the Internet radio options on the App Store, there’s no reason for Apple to bulk up their iPod line with a tuner.

4. iTunes subscription service

Why, when every other subscription service has failed, would anyone expect Apple to attempt the same exact idea?  Perhaps more damning is the music industry’s love/hate relationship with Apple, which may preclude them from even considering such a deal, even if it did make sense.

5. The Beatles

When the remastered albums are ready for release, we’ll see them on iTunes.  I’m sure Jobs would love to be the one to make the announcement, but he’ll have to fight for it.
