Seven years later, airport security theater is an inconvenient joke, international relations are disconcertingly poor, the dollar is dropping, we’re engaged in an expensive and unjust war, and the site of this tragedy remains an empty and ignored hole in the ground. Worst of all, the man responsible continues to walk free.
Yet the best way we can come up with to honor those who died is to replay the footage of their deaths and mindlessly wave flags once a year. God bless America.
